The Sony Alpha 7 V (A7 V) is a full-frame mirrorless camera designed for photographers, filmmakers, content creators, and hybrid shooters who need high-resolution imaging, fast autofocus, rapid continuous shooting, and advanced video capabilities in one camera.

At its core is an approximately 33MP partially stacked Exmor RS CMOS sensor, paired with the BIONZ XR2 processor with built-in AI. This combination is designed to deliver detailed images, responsive performance, and intelligent subject recognition for a variety of shooting situations.

For fast-moving subjects, the A7 V supports blackout-free continuous shooting up to 30 fps with full AF/AE tracking when using the electronic shutter. Its electronic shutter can reach speeds of up to 1/16000 sec, providing fast motion capture and greater control in bright shooting conditions.

The camera’s AI-based subject recognition is designed to assist with detecting and tracking subjects including people, animals, vehicles, and more, helping maintain focus during demanding shooting situations.

For video creators, the A7 V records full-frame 4K video up to 60p and supports 4K 120p recording in APS-C/Super 35mm mode for smooth slow-motion footage. The supplied documentation notes that 4K 120p uses a reduced angle of view in this mode.

The camera also incorporates 5-axis in-body image stabilization, helping reduce the effects of camera shake for handheld photography and video recording. With a stated dynamic range of up to 16 stops in suitable settings, the A7 V is designed to retain detail across a broad range of tones.

Whether you’re photographing weddings, portraits, sports, wildlife, travel, or commercial work, or creating YouTube and professional video content, the Sony Alpha 7 V is built as a versatile hybrid full-frame camera.
