The Sony FX5 brings professional cinema technology into a compact and versatile camera body. With more than 15 stops of dynamic range in S-Log3, three base ISO settings, and Dual Gain Shooting, the FX5 gives filmmakers greater flexibility when working in challenging lighting conditions. Its Open Gate recording mode allows creators to capture the full sensor area for greater flexibility when reframing footage for different delivery formats. For professional workflows, the FX5 supports internal 16-bit scene-linear X-OCN RAW recording, reducing the need for an external RAW recorder. It records up to 5K at 60fps, 4K at 120fps, and Full HD at 240fps, making it suitable for cinematic productions, slow-motion sequences, commercials, interviews, and documentary filmmaking.
